Lifejackets
Lifejackets are located in the rear pipe berths OR hanging above
the rear pipe berths. We carry 6-8 lifejackets. Crew are welcome to bring and
use their own lifejacket.
My recommendation on the type of lifejacket is either a regular vest OR one that
automatically inflates on contact with water - the type that need to be manually
activated are dangerous, you may be incapable of inflating your lifejacket if
you are unconscious, panicked or hypothermic!!
You are advised to wear your lifejacket whenever the weather is rough, if you
can't swim, the skipper calls for mandatory lifejackets OR you just feel more
comfortable with one on.
M.O.B
MOB, or "Man over board" equipment consists of a life
sling velcro to the rear pulpit. To activate pull open the top flap and throw
the complete sling overboard towards the person in the water.
Horseshoe with the boat name and automatically activated light is located in the
rear cockpit bottom. To activate unhook the bungee and throw the horseshoe
towards the victim.
Fire
There are two fire extinguishers on board.
Leak/Sinking
Soft wooden plugs are located in the safety shelf on the starboard side rear most cubby hole.
